PLANT & INDUSTRIAL VALVE GROUP (PIV)

Kennedy Valve Plant and Industrial Valve Group (PIV) started in 2013 when American R/D was relocated to Elmira, NY. The PIV Group markets a variety of valve types including Check Valves, Butterfly Valves, Eccentric Plug Valves, Rotating Disc Gate Valves, Solid Wedge Gate Valves and Resilient Wedge Gate Valves supplied through contracted manufacturer’s representatives.
Valves are available with a variety of manual or actuation options depending on size and application needs. Actuation types include Multi-turn for open/close service typical for Gate Valve applications; Quarter-turn for modulation service typical for Plug Valves or Butterfly Valves.

HYDRANTS

Fire hydrants have been used in fire protection for over 100 years. AWWA C502 was developed in 1913 as a standard for the manufacture and use of dry barrel hydrants. Kennedy has established itself as a leader in the industry with manufacturing experience dating back to 1905. Many of the early hydrants are in use today.

RESILLIENT WEDGE GATE VALVES

During the decade of the 1980’s, the waterworks industry was introduced to the Resilient Seated Gate Valve, a design principle that is dominant in preference for use in distribution systems. Kennedy Valve Company was at the forefront in this industry — wide movement by introducing the Ken Seal Series, AWWA C509 Resilient Seated Gate Valve.

BUTTERFLY VALVES

The Kennedy Valve Butterfly Valves’ robust and rugged design can be relied upon for years of trouble free service. Kennedy Valves’ Butterfly Valves have a 100% bubble tight seal via a 316 stainless steel ring located in the body and the rubber seat located on the vane. CHECK VALVES

AWWA C508 was developed in 1976 to set a standard for the manufacture, testing and application of the Iron Body Bronze Mounted Check Valves. The valves are designed with an iron body and include either metal to metal or composition to metal seating.
